Employment Internship Opportunity

UTAH WORKFORCE SERVICES
Employer Internship Opportunity (EIO) Youth Internship Programs:

 2) You pay for the taxes and worker's compensation, but we provide a $150.00 per month training stipend that should more than cover these expenses. The training stipend is paid at the end of the internship.

 3) You will report the youth as a new hire to Unemployment Insurance, but you do not report the wages because we will handle that.

 4) The length of the internship depends on the number of hours worked and the intern's hourly wage. We reimburse the intern's wages for up to 13 weeks OR whatever the dollar amount that the customer qualifies for, whichever comes first out of those two things.

 5) If you wish to continue employing the youth after the internship (we would love that, but it is not required), start reporting their wages to Unemployment Insurance.

 6) You will need to sign some agreements. The Employer Agreement for your company lasts one year. Then, you will sign a training agreement. This agreement is for the individual youth trainee you hire. It will list their pay rate, reimbursement details, learning objectives, and the internship's start and end dates. You will also need to sign some financial forms to set your company up as a vendor with the state so you can be reimbursed.

 7) Each time you pay the youth, send us a copy of their paycheck stub showing the beginning and ending of the pay period, and we will send you a check in the mail or the funds electronically.

On the Job Training

On-The-Job Training (OJT)

1) If you interview and then hire one of our pre-qualified candidates as a permanent full-time (32+ Hours Per Week) employee, we will reimburse 50% of their salary up to an agreed-upon point in time. It is usually around $4,000. You must hire our customer as a W-2 employee because we cannot reimburse a 1099 or independent contractors.

 2) If you hire one of our customers you will treat them like any other employee and follow your regular onboarding process. Each time our customer is paid, send us a copy of their paycheck stub showing the beginning and ending of the pay period and we send you a check in the mail or deposit the funds electronically.

  3) You will need to sign some agreements. The Employer Agreement for your company lasts one year. Then, you will sign a training agreement. This agreement is for the individual customer you hire. It will list their pay rate, reimbursement details, learning objectives, and the program’s start and end dates.
